Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM Failure

D

Dave

I attempted to play an MP3 file in XP and got a blue
screen that forced me to reboot. While rebooting, I
received the following message:
Verifying DMI Pool Data
Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM Failure
DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

I get this message now every time.
My boot order is 1. A: 2. HD 3. CD
I can boot up with the XP Professional CD but it does not
see the hard drive. The BIOS does see the hard drive
though.

I apologize if this is the wrong Newsgroup. If someone has
any ideas I would appreciate it. I think the hard drive may
be toast.
