Boot failure

I recently installed XP Professional on a new disk drive
on my Desktop unit and it was working fine for two weeks
when it started aborting at boot up.

It gives me the following error "INF File txtsetup.sif is
corrupt or missing. Status 14 Setup cannot continue."

I cannot start the PC to get the product number for tech
support and it doesn't want to boot from the XP CD Disk.

Any ideas on how I can get past this roadblock?

Dan,

you already got good advice. Just one more detail.

There is a risk that your hard disk is failing. So you may want
to check it, including a surface check, to make sure that this
is not the case.
