A friend is unable to boot her pc...the Blue Screen comes up and she can go
no farther. I think she may have a virus as she was lax in updating and
running anti v software. Starting in Safe Mode still results in the BOD.

At this point how can I help her? I was thinking that I could make a boot up
disk but I see this isn't as easy as in the old days. Can I make a bootable
cd-rom on my system that she can use on hers? What's the best way(s) to do
that?

Thanks for any advice/suggestions?

It is BSOD - Blue Screen Of Death.

Booting from the XP CD should not result in a BSOD - it should start the
computer and ask what do you want to do. There has to be something else
wrong that you're not aware of mentioning.

Can you get into the BIOS, and set things to boot from a floppy? Try booting
from a real-mode DOS floppy if you have one?

This is a hardware issue. What, exactly, is the error message?

by the way:
BOD = Biological Oxygen Demand
BSOD = Blue Screen Of Death

Hi

Can you please post the Stop Code that accompanies the BSOD? With that, the
problem could be isolated.
