Hi, Steve.

As no one has picked up your question yet, my modest experience might just
help.

It sounds like you have a serious conflict among incompatible drivers. I
suggest visiting the websites of all your peripherals - printers, scanner
etc - and all the programmes you have loaded loaded. Download updated XP
compatible drivers and place them in a special folder. Now uninstall
everything, including peripherals, and reinstall using the new drivers. If
XP loads its own driver, you can remove it and load the new one or leave it
to see if all is okay.

If there is a missing driver, try Start/Help & Support and type
'compatibility' in the search window. You can take it from there.

Good luck,

Ed

Hi

Can you, please, post the error code associated with the BSOD - and any other error messages that are being received? With those, your problem could be isolated.

"I'm getting the blue screen of death, which I thought had been corrected

The above is pretty important. As Will says, the error messages are
all-important. As you may realize, even faulty hardware could be suspected
in this situation.
