Blue Screen after installing SP2

Hi,
I downloaded an ISO image for the SP2 CD from the
MSDN site and used it to install SP2 on my machine.
After rebooting I got a screen asking if I wished to turn
on auto-updates. I selected not now and the PC
immediately crashed to a blue screen. On the next boot I
got as far as the welcome screen and the wav file I have
for "start windows" began to play. Then another blue
screen accompanied by the screech of teh music coming ot
an abrupt halt. I was able to boot up in safe mode and
remove SP2.

I am looking for suggestions / steps to get SP2
correctly installed. My system specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3800+
Asus A8V motherboard
Two WD Raptors in RAID 0 using the onboard VIA RAID
controller
1 GB Corsair memory
SB Audigy 2 ZS soundcard
NEC DuaLayer DVD Burner
Logitech Cordless MX Duo hooked up through USB
eVGA GeForce 6800 GT
Adaptec AHA-2940AU SCSI card
HP LaserJet 5L - Parellel
Canon S9000 - USB
CanoScan FS4000US - SCSI
Epson Perfection 2450 Photo - Firewire
Saitek 45 - USB
External Zip Drive - Parrallel
APC BackUPS XS 1500 - USB

I have all the latest drivers installed for all
hardware. A clean install of the entire system was done
on 29 Jul. There is a third party firewall / Anti virus
running that was disabled while installing SP2

Thanks
Andy

This one's easy, you just box that sick puppy up and send it to my house.
Along with your copy of Doom3.

It wound up not being the install version that I used but rather my
existing firewall. I had installed and was using the version Computer
Associates EZ Firewall that Road Runner gave me for free. When I
installed SP2 I tunred off the firewall but it was set to auto start
when windows started. That was waht was causing the blue screens.

After uninstalling SP2 I turned off the auto start on the firewall and
then installed SP2. Windows started up fine. I turned off the
Firewall that came with SP2 and then tried to turn on the EZ Firewall.
As soon as I tunred on I recieved a blue screen.

So I guess I am stuck using the firewall that came with SP2.

There are other free 3rd party firewalls that monitor inbound and
outbound. The XP one only does outbound. Sygate, ZA, Kerio to name three.
