Blocking Specific Ports

Could someone post a link to a nice, detailed page or FAQ
on how to block individual ports and what each port is
designated for?

Hi Darayman,
your idea to post a link listing that ports and how to
block them sounds great, at first. There are however
over 65,000 of them all together and you would spend days
gathering informatioin on which ones had been utilized by
programs running on your system. Just get yourself a
good firewall and that will do it all for you. Save your
sanity friend. I've worked with computers and networks
for years and I still wouldn't go to the trouble of
hunting down and closing ports on an individual basis if
I can avoid it. Best of luck and have a fun.
