I have windows XP home. How do i enter the bios when it boots up. it doesn't
give me a Function key to press

Nothing at the bottom of the screen, something to the effect of 'Please
press X to enter setup' - where X could the Delete key, F1, F2 F12 etc? The
manual for your motherboard should show you how to enter the BIOS.

Your question is unrelated to Windows XP - the BIOS
gets into the act a long time before Windows starts. Read
your motherboard manual - you might have to press
F1, F2, Del, F12, Alt+Esc, Alt+F1. It depends on the
manufacturer of your BIOS.

The operating system is immaterial. Only you know what
motherboard and BIOS you have, so only you know the answer to your
question. ;-}
