I'm kinda confused. You want to segue several .MPG into one longer
movie .. it sounds like. To my knowledge, I think VirtualDub handles
only .AVI format.

VitualDub will join avi files or re-render mpg to avi.
VirtualDub v1.3c(older ver) will convert wmv and asf, too.
VirtualDub-MPEG2 will work w/ MPEG2 files

Must haves :

VitualDub..great AVI tool.

TMPGEnc
http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html
Use the tools feature to combine MPEG, VCD,etc.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg of it's many great features.

http://www.medialab.se/mpgprop_e.html
nice small tool for getting Mpeg info.
249k...no install

http://www.geocities.com/cplarosa/movieid/
Very nice..78 k no install for getting video info.
Put it in a folder and create a desktop shortcut on your desktop.
Then just drag and drop the vid file into the shortcut.
A text file will pop up w/ vid info that you can save it you
want..neat.

Baldgorilla ASX Maker 2.5
An alternative to joining...playlist maker for WMP. 162k

WMP Scripting Fix v1.0 (Google it )
Turn on and off WMP's scripting ability...ever watch a spammer's wmv
only to have IE pop-up and directed to the spammer's site ? This will
stop those wmv pop-ups

There are many more great free vid tools. But I use these often.

Thanks.
I have installed this software on my Windows 2K system. (VB6 Runtime also)
2 dll's were too old and then rejected.
Launching this software is working but it's hanging during the 'Join' phase
and is remaining to 0%.
Is it really working with Windows 2000?

Almost forgot......
You might Google for a copy of Borland joiner (free) as Camel has been
known to not work well w/ XP.
But since the basic TMPGEnc is free, I would still recommend TMPGEnc's
tools to join the Mpegs..anyway have some fun w/ this technique :

You can also use DOS to do it yourself :

For MPG files

The DOS copy command. Here is an example
1. Open a DOS window
2. Type
copy /B FLICK2a.mpg /B + FLICK2b.mpg /B + FLICK2c.mpg temp1.mpg
copy /B FLICK2d.mpg /B + FLICK2e.mpg /B + FLICK2f.mpg temp2.mpg
copy /B FLICK2g.mpg /B + FLICK2h.mpg temp3.mpg
copy /B temp1.mpg /B + temp2.mpg /B + temp3.mpg FLICK2.mpg
3. Then erase the temp and the *a, b, c, etc. files (if desired)
