before logging onto my user ID unread e mails appears. Wrongly

I have Outlook 2003. I share my compter and log on as one of two users. Both
of us at our icons have a number and UNREAD MESSAGES. On our e mails we have
no unread messages and cannot get rid of thiese messages on start up. Please
help
