Reading e-mail

In Outlook 2003, I have my e-mail inbox and my boss's inbox. Our server
recently crashed and it has been rebuilt, but a setting has changed. In the
past I could monitor his e-mail by viewing and/or reading it and there must
have been a timeframe scheduled (30 seconds or so), where it would not be
unhighlighted as read, but would stay bolded as unread mail. Now, with the
rebuilt server, as soon as I click on his e-mail in the left-side pane, the
e-mail is unbolded and I have to click on each e-mail to bold "mark as
unread." Is there a setting that could be changed so that I didn't have to
go through this process each and every time? Thank you for your help.

So what options do you see for the Preview pane?

Go to TOOLS at the top, then OPTIONS and under the GENERAL Tab there is
the ability to vary the time before unread

Um, no. There is no General tab under Tools>Options in Outlook 2003. The
correct path is Tools>Options>Other>Reading Pane. Please try to be more
accurate when you post.

Hi Brian:
Thanks for this correct information -- I thought I was losing my mind trying
to find the information on a general tab. I have found it through your
accurate instructions and appreciate the correction and help!
