battery level stays at 100%

the laptop charges and remains on while unplugged.. while running unplugged
the battery meter stays at 100% until it just abrubtly shuts off due to the
loss of power, i'll plug it back in start it up and the meter will show 0%
charging. it then gradually goes up to 100% and if i unplug it again it will
do the same thing. any ideas?

obviously a driver issue, did you check the manufacturers website?

drivers for vista are not yet released, should i use xp ones?

It sounds like your drivers are at issue. Try to reinstall the XP ones,
that seems like your only choice right now.
