Question: After a couple hundred incrementals have been run, and I want to see
all the versions of XYZ.txt that are in the backups, does the "Search" icon do
the trick?

If you wait for a "couple hundred" incrementals to pile up, you
deserve whatever goes wrong.

I rarely let things go beyond a couple of weeks.

Novastor released an updated version of their backup product --
supports Vista workstations now (as well as W2K and XP).

Good for you.

You probably want it to be freeware too.

I think you're a moron for expecting something to be as perfect as you
want, but that's your choice.

Thanks for the constructive reply.

If you want partition image backup then look at Drive Snapshot
http://www.drivesnapshot.de/en/home.htm . It's small (less than 200 kB),
very fast and reliable tool. I use it from years. It's compatible with all
Windows version (with Vista too) except Windows 98. Images can be
encrypted with password protected AES 128 bit key. And you can simply
exclude certain files or folders from backup.

The Backup Utility aren't that bad in Vista, however
the options given between CD/DVD and Network
are not satisfactory. I couldn't find any option to
backup for instance on internal drive E:\ or any
other. Am I missing something here?
