Backup & Restore in Vista

Dave

Can any tell me is to possible to backup specific files with Vista backup &
restore, Or can i only click on what categories Vista offers me, i.e Docs,
music, video Etc.

It is just i like to be in control of what gets backed up, and not the
Backup Software.

If this is not possible, can anybody recommed a good peice of backup
software that is compatable with Vista Buisness.

Thanks

Dave,

I use Backup4all by Softand. It's $44.95 and it does everything you'd need.
I use it on Vista Ultimate with no problems at all. Backup4all is very
configurable.

I hope this helps.

Nope, just the types, there's no way to exclude folders.

It's good ain't it, my backup sizes went from around 10GB to 90GB. All in
the name of ease of use *bangs head on wall*.

I'll be moving over to using Windows Home Server back up soon anyway, but
this is something that *needs* to be addressed, it wouldn't take much to at
least give it a list of folders to exclude.

Why is that?

You would think any operating system maker/writer/designer would put
'backup utility' at or near the top of the priority list.

Does Microsoft hate us?

Typical Microsoft - add loads of "features" that are never going to be used
and when you want something useful...err it's not available.

Was looking for the same for a client - another reason NOT to get them to
move up to Vista.
