When I try to update an existing backup on a CD RW I get
an error message saying that "The Backup filename could
not be used". I am a lone user of this computer and I
have not knowingly set any security settings. What is the
problem?

If this is software backup utility and your appending
data on a CD-R on a CDRW drive, this may be the reason
you get that message. or your out of room on the cdrw
disk. Or if it's ntbackup, I think it doesn't remember
file statistics, another words it won't ask you to mount
this or that volume. Your responsible to know what to
mount.
Really I don't have enough info to work with here. What
backup utility created this filename?
