Backup Problem

I installed and am trying to use NTbackup.exe for the first time on my Windows XP PC. I have no problem burning a CD when using Sonics "Record Now" but its slow (or appears to be, took 25 mins to burn a 700mb disc). I would rather use the Windows backup. The wizard opens and I can choose files, folders etc. but when it comes down to backup where and I choose E: as the location (my DVD/RW ) it says "The backup file name could not be used" E:\cj backup.bkf (It didn't matter what I named it.) And then that was followed by; "Please insure it is a valid path and that you have sufficient access.
As far as I'm concerned the path is correct and the name is legal. Can someone tell me why it won't go further?????

The NTbackup utility furnished with Windows XP does not burn directly to a
CDR/CD-RW/DVD-RW. You'd have to purchase a third party backup program if
you want to burn your backups directly to CDR/CD-RW/DVD-RW.

you can try "123Backup" free for 30 days. I have used it on a WinMe sytem & on an XP
system. I rate the program as awesome.

Its got a great price, $20, and will write to my cd-rw drive.
(caveat: my pc uses InCD to make the cdrw disc like a big floppy at E:)

NTBackup does not deal in CDs. You can make it back up to a single
CD-RW disk (or DVD writable disk in a DVD burner - rather more useful)
if you have Sonic DLA installed; but even then it will not 'span' to a
succession of disks. The only media it recognises as being removable
are tapes and floppy disks. It is really intended for people who used
it in NT and are bringing their tape systems forward.
