backing up favorites

how can I back up my favorites, I tried to burn the file
to a CD, was told by system could not because file names
were to long. I want to make a back up of all the
favorites I have listed in the favorites file so if I
lose the Hdisk or the system crashes I have all these
sites. how can I do this.

Thanks, someone out there knows how!
