Background printing

I have a background picture on all pages of my document but when it prints it
prints the picture in tiles all across the page instaed of printing the
background as a full page. How do I change this so that the full background
prints?

the background functionality you used was meant for web pages (and in
simple HTML, a background image was repeated like this).

Tell us what version of Word you are using, and I'm sure somebody in
here may tell you how best to achieve it.

What works independently of any version is to insert and anchor a
picture in the header or footer area.
