And if the test fails? Then, in the name of testing, I have converted a
good system into a hosed system...

At least if I don't try an image restore until my system gets hosed by
itself, and it fails then, I'm no worse off than I would have been without
the app.

Sheesh.

Where are Curly and Larry?

Decided to give up on Macrium Reflect Free version. Removed backup from
systems and application. I was hopeful to get recovery environment to work
with this version without success, unable to buy full version at this time!
Maybe in the future? Still looking for a free solution on imaging my laptop
partition so when my beta ends I can format and recover without spending
hours doing so! If anyone out here has another ideal I will give it some
effort! Thank you to the five of you who attempted to and in some cases
helped me! Will be checking back to see if any more additions?

Hi SIW2,

Have successfully backed up and restored partitions I wanted.
From within widows I backed up to network drive.
Then able to recover same partition from network drive using Parogon from
within windows.
Baked up partition from recovery CD . Only could use hard disk space on
laptop I was backing the partition off of? That worked fine also cause I had
room on second partition on laptop drive! Was able to restore partition in
both scenarios.

Question I have is how do I restore backup off of network drive I created
out of windows environment if using recovery CD in the recovery environment
in case windows does not boot? I have searched and without any luck. Maybe
since you have been using this program you have some way of creating
recovery CD to see network? Thank you very much for all you help. I am very
pleased so far with the program. Just coming up short of my goal which is: I
want to be able to recover from a disaster or hard drive, operating system
failure!
You have been kind in taking time to help. Thank you!
Hoping you will have some suggestions for me?

SIW2,
Was reading in paragon forum and one post read that you can not with the
free version. Believe it is a way for them to promote their product hoping
user will purchase full version? I can use via USB HDD enclosure with my
old laptop HDD in it which lets me recover my backup image from recovery
CD. Thanks again for everyone's help with my problem! Boomarked link you
sent will check it out later.
