I received an e-mail from WCG the other day asking me to participate in a survey, I did and started thinking why not join in again and contribute.

I downloaded the software and just started crunching.

I may need to catch up and fine tune things as I have not been crunching since September 2006 (15 days before my move to US)

I hope to be able to continue towards this good cause and keep on crunching as long as I can.:)

Just thought I'd pop in and say hello to all.

I seem to be having some issue with connections. Here is the log if anyone can tell me what and where I should make changes. I am highlighting the issues for anyone to give feedback on.

Welcome back Quad.
Have you tried re-installing the software?

I have been checking out everything and trying to catch up.

I noticed that I have actually installed the 32 bit version instead of 64 bit which was offered to me on the wcg site. Will it make a bit difference if I install the 64 bit version?

What about the work units that are crunching now? Will I loose them? Do I install while it is crunching or suspend all work before updating?

Thank you for any quick suggestions. I will not have to read up on all that.

I updated the Boinc Manager on my 64 bit system with 7.0.28 version and all is OK including the pending projects which have resumed crunching as well :thumb:

As long as you are installing forward you're ok. If you need to install backwards, ie go from version 5 or version 4 for example, in the BOINC Manager, click on the Projects tab, click on the project, then select the No new tasks button. As soon as all the tasks are completed and reported, it'll be safe to uninstall and reinstall the older version without losing any time on the partially completed tasks.
