Hello, people,
New computer (son's), xpsp1
Two problems:
(1) DUN can't remember the password I put in, even though I have
checked the "remember password" thing. I've tried deleting the
connection and setting up a new one, but the same thing happens.
Poor son has had to learn a random 10 digit letters and figures in
order to check his email and do homework.
(2) Something, somewhere is dialling up without anyone asking it to,
apparently at random. This would be bad enough if the DUN could
remember the password, but as it can't, it's dialling up and then not
connecting. Please could some kind soul list for me all the things I
have to tell not to dial up so that it only does it when asked.
I was wondering if WIndows messenger might be the guilty prog, since
it appears to be in the startup menu - I'm going to take it out of
startup and see if that helps tomorrow (too tired and fed up tonight).
Any other suggestion?
