avi files won't play with media player

I have 6 avi files that used to play on my computer but now they won't. I
get messages that I need a codec and a driver. How do I find these for avi
files and what else is there I should do.

Use something like GSpot to find out what codecs you need.

thanx that did help. I found the codec i needed and now can watch the videos.
