AVG7free email problem

After installing AVG7free my OE6 will not connect. The little gray AVG popup
appears when OE opens, then the "failed connection" window opens.

I went to AVG online FAQ but it won't stay connected long enough to follow
their troubleshooting process (I don't know if that is due to AVG or this is
a not-unusual temporary ISP thing.) It would be nice if the FAQ was more
straightforward --I don't know which category this problem falls under, but
it seems like something should simply say "What to do if OE will not
connect." instead of all the gobbledegook.

I uninstalled the AVG7 and OE works fine, otherwise I couldn't send this. I
had no problems with AVG6. What to do?
Thanks, Jack

Browse to
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\AVG7\QUEUE\IN\10110 on
your hard drive and delete any .emc files you find there.
That should clear it up.

Install AVG7 and select "Custom" then delete the e-mail plug in.

After trying all of these suggestions to some degree (except AVAST which
I'm waiting to try if all else fails), I ended up finally able to configure
for OE off the AVG website. What a hassle, but I think it is working O.K. So
thanks for the help. Jack

Mine works OK. I had "Zone Labs free" firewall to guide it though. Had to
give it permission 3 times. RodneyK
