AVG7

I am unable to get AVG7 to work. I first tried to update and that did not
work so I uninstalled AVG6 and installed AVG7. It says the install is
complete but it will not scan or update. I've made numerous attempts at
uninstalling and installing. I went into safe mode and found many hidden
files that I cannot delete. I don't know if that's causing the problem but
there's nothing I can do about it. I had no problem with AVG6. I did not
receive any error messages while uninstalling AVG6. I have posted on the
grisoft support forum and I did not receive any help. I did notice many
users were having the same problem. I've actually installed AVG7 on three
PCs. It only works on one. The other two will not update or perform a scan.
Windows Updates are current on all. All OS's are XP and I never received any
error messages. The two not working are:

AMD Athlon XP1800+
60G 120G
256Mb
&
Compaq 3200NX 2400
120G
256k
48x

The one it's working on is:
AMD Anthlon XP1700+
120G
512Mb

Any suggestions in getting it to work or failing that is there any other
free antivirus that's as good? Thanks in advance!

I should also say I run Ad-aware, Spybot and CWshredder on all three daily.
None were infected the day of the first download.

make sure you have allowed all 3 AVG 7 components in your firewall.
