AVG Problem

Arrggghh!!! I've been so happy with AVG anti-virus. Now it's started
bouncing e-mails that I send, telling me that there's a problem with the
recipient. Here's a copy of the message I get:

This is the AVG E-mail Scanner program.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned
below could not be delivered to one or more destinations.

: Sender verify failed

Your e-mail message is being returned to you in the next part of this
message. Try to send the message again.

Should you need assistance, please contact your administrator or your
internet service provider.

Now, I've turned off the component that checks outgoing mail -- same
problem. I even disabled e-mail component in its entirety, rebooted, and
the problem persists. I have a book review I need to send out, and it won't
go!

Does anyone know how to address this problem? Sorry to post it here, but
AVG is freeware, and there seem to be some users here.

Uninstall AVG altogether. Then redownload it and reinstall it with the
Custom install option. Do NOT install the email scanner. As long as the
resident scanner is functional and up-to-date, the email scanner is
superfluous.

Responding again --

I just went to this forum, and it turns out others were having the same
problems! There's a sticky note on this very thing.

I do thank you for pointing it out to me.

And to Mark Warner, I responded privately by mistake. My public thanks to
him, too.

I don't use AVG, but I've disabled email checking with my AV program and it
speeds up the process. Someone recommended this action as email (coming from
yourself at least) should be ok.

I disabled the outgoing mail check, and it works okay. Going to the message
board recommended here, it seems I'm not the only one with the problem.

Thanks.

My problem is I can't download the AVG7 file at all. I have W98SE. I
can't even open the FAG section! I turned off my firewall completly
but all that happens when I try to download AVG7 is after it acts
like it's downloading for a few minutes, the screen comes up blank
except for a little MS icon in top left corner. Anyone got any advice?
Thanks in advance.
