AVG Free vs. Pro

I installed the free version of AVG on a friend's computer a couple
weeks ago. Friday it detected the first virus (a trojan) since the
original installation. The program only offered a choice between
putting the infected file in The Vault or ignoring the virus. And I
couldn't find any place to set AVG to do something "automatically"
with the infection--like move it to The Vault. Does the Pro version
have the ability to try and remove a virus from an infected file? And
does it offer more "customization"?

I belive the pro does have that capability ,however if you are going to pay
for an AV there are AVs with a much better detection rate.

i would have agreed with that comment previously, but after NAV and trend
missed quite a few viruses on a system and the only one that got them was
AVG i'd this may not always be the case.. but then that is in my recent
experience
