Autopreview and Spam

J

James

Hi,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but why is it that when I use
AutoPreview to display the first few lines of an email, the content is
sometimes completely different to what is in the email when you open it up?

It seems that spammers use this to try to fool you into thinking an email is
legitimate.

Is there a way to combat this? I am using Outlook 2003 with SP1 and have all
the latest junk email filters installed.

Regards,

James

Because the sender transmitted different content in the plain-text and HTML parts of the message. Sneaky, huh? I wouldn't trust AutoPreview to show the true contents of mail from people I don't know.
