Autopreview and spam

I have been told that using the autopreview feature is the
same as opening an email and thus can generate more spam
by automatically "opening" unwanted email. Can anyone
verify this? Thanks.

Previewing a message can launch some viruses - check out
www.symantec.com

I would recommend turning OFF previewing messages.

I am not sure how it could generate more spam unless
there was some scripting language that grabs your e-mail
address - I doubt it.

But BEWARE of viruses and "previewing".

It used to be, but if you have any version of Outlook after Outlook 2000 SP3
and it's up-to-date with its patches, then the preview pane should be safe.
