Autoplay sometimes fails

My DVD drive no longer takes appropriate action when some DVDs are
inserted. Or a pop-up a menu asking for me the action I want. I think
it's confined to setup DVDs. Just whirrs, and I have to r-click the
drive's shortcut and choose Open to get to the setup.exe file.

Yet all the obvious settings seem OK. And 'normal' DVDs and audio CDs
etc do invoke autoplay OK.

Also, on a broader point, is there a reliable utility that I can use
quickly to get Autoplay back to normal on a CD/DVD drive when it fails
altogether, as occasionally happens please?

Your problem is easily fixed but first of all please tell me if you've
learned to thank people for their advice or are you still an ignorant little
pinhead ****?

For my own part, I have never had a thought which I could not set down
in words with even more distinctness than that with which I conceived
it. There is, however, a class of fancies of exquisite delicacy which
are not thoughts, and to which as yet I have found it absolutely
impossible to adapt to language. These fancies arise in the soul, alas
how rarely. Only at epochs of most intense tranquillity, when the
bodily and mental health are in perfection. And at those weird points
of time, where the confines of the waking world blend with the world of
dreams. And so I captured this fancy, where all that we see, or seem,
is but a dream within a dream.
