Automatic updates not available

Had a major problem when I downloaded Internet 7. Had instalation help and
Tech hepl from Microsoft to get it installed and to fix all the system
errors messages/problems on start up.

All fixed after 5 hours of help. But I notice now that under my Security
center-- Automatic Update box is all grayed out and I can access it.

It shows that Automatic update is on and the security center states that
that it is on.

How do I know that is rightt and how do I get it back?
