Automatic Update Not Working

Ben

I have noticed that "Power Users" are not able to get
automatic updates of windows software. I had them set to
download the updates automatically, then prompt for
installation. The only way the Automatic Update seems to
work is to log in as the administrator, then suddenly it
shows the updates are downloaded and available for
installation.

Why do you have to be logged in as an administrator to
use the Automatic Update? It seems to defeat the purpose
of having automatic updates if I have to go computer to
computer anyway. Anyone know of a work around for this
that doesn't involve granting administrator rights to
every user?

All of the doc that I have read so far states that this is the expected behavior.

Most software requires an 'administrator' to be logged in for the software to be able to install.
