automatic software deleting

I use windows xp and it seems that the computer is automatically deleting
games a few days after they are loaded. I can't undestand why, and I'm sure
that nobody else deletes them. This happens with the sims, online games, some
programs... and I've gotten so tired of re-loading something that I've
downloaded so many times that I really need help to find out why it is doing
this. If anone knows or can help.. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

This computer has done this since I bought it... from the first week out of
the box when there was no connection to the internet. There are no viruses
because I use my virus software often.
