automatic shutdown while playing game

V

Vidhya

hey! my computer shuts down automatically while I'm
playing a game and a blue screen pops up stating "a
problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down
to prevent damage to your computer,
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL..." This problem has never
occurred before.

Also, I updated my video and sound driver a week before
this problem began. Could the updates be the cause?

Thanks! :)

Hi Vidhya,
Also, I updated my video and sound driver a week before
this problem began. Could the updates be the cause?

Almost certainly, as you are able to tie the update to the change in system
behavior. Rollback one at a time to the previous driver version. To do this,
open Device Manager from the Control Panel/System/Hardware tab. Expand the
appropriate branch, then double click the device. You will find a rollback
button on the driver tab.
