Automatic shutdown? plz help!

I was on my computer playing an online game...all of a sudden the computer
restarts automatically...blank screen and a beeping noise is coming from the
computer...whats going on? Is there some way to solve this? update perhaps?

The beeping noise is what is known as a "beep code." Each BIOS has its own
collection of beep code patterns. In some, three beeps repeated after a
short interval indicates bad RAM. Overheating with my current motherboard
is signaled by a scary sounding siren noise.

Find out the BIOS type that your system uses (SIS, AWARD, Phoenix are all
common). This is displayed during the POST portion of the system powering
on before Windows starts loading. If unable to see that information, look
it up in your system manual - either a hard copy on hand or an electronic
copy downloadable from your system manufacturer.

Once you know what kind of BIOS your system has and if included - which
version of BIOS. You can then look up the corresponding beep code. That may
be listed in the manual or you can search for the information online.
