I am running Windows XP home edition. When I try to boot
up my computer it goes through the first 30 seconds than
it just shuts down. The Power supply seems to be working
fine. Is this a virus that I could have gotten? I can't
even get into the bios at startup.

do you get into windows? why cant you get into the bios?
If you connect to the internet you may have the blaster or sasser worm....

I've had a similar problem, at boot up the computer would try to load and
then it shuts it self down.
I have found that the cpu was over heating and that the cpu shut down temp
in the bios was set at a specific temp and at boot up my computer would
reach that temperature so it would shut down immediately. Read posting "XP
set up and immediate shut down"
I have replaced the heat sink and fan to a better one than what was supplied
by Intel
