Hot Chik 21

My computer shuts down at startup after about 30-45
seconds for no reason. No error messages, just powers
down. The power supply seems to be working fine, is this
software or HARDware related? Any suggestions on what
might be the problem?

Nothing new. As a matter of fact, I went on vacation and
when I came back the problem started occuring. I can't
even start up in safe mode.

Turn the PC on, and enter BIOS. There should be a category
for viewing Fan Speed and Voltages. If the PC is too Hot,
then remove the case and boot with the cover removed. Most
modern motherboards will have an audible alert if any of the
Heat or Fan monitors are above the cut-off level.

You should also check that the CPU fan is turning. It only takes
a short time for a CPU to overheat and go into Thermal runaway.
(Burned up Processor).

Examine the inside of the case. If dust has accumulated, remove
it. Dust traps heat, heat ages components which will fail much
sooner than in a clean, cool environment.

I cannot even get to the Desktop to get to the C Prompt.
The PC shuts down in the boot process. I am not on my home
pc right now, that one won't finish the boot process.
After about 30-45 seconds everything just shuts down .

Try what MCarthy said first then if that doesn't work you
might need to reinstall.

I am thinking that my Processor is fried. Both CPU and
regular Power fans are running. Now when I go to boot up
the Power is on and the system seems to be working fine
and does not shut off but, the screen does nothing and I
do not hear the HARD drive trying to boot or process any
commands. I hear no initial boot up beep and I do not hear
windows loading. It is not the Video or Sound card becuase
I have the graphics integrated into to MB.

I am trying this as we speak...
Go into the recovery console by inserting your windows
disk and pressing R at the welcome to windows screen. At
the prompt type chkdsk /r
