Automatic pop-up "Page is unavailable offline" error

My girlfriend's computer running Windows XP has recently
acquired an annoying habit of flashing a pop-up window
declaring that "Web page you have requested is unavailable
offline."

This occurs every 4-5 minutes when the computer is turned
on, but not logged ontoher ISP. This glitch interrupts
any active window. Any help?

Thanks for the response. I'll check and see, but she's
running XP. Does the MTX virus also affect that OS? I
couldn't tell from the page you siuggested.
