Automatic Log off

Hi,

I am running MS Windows XP PRO. As soon as I start my
computer and Windows loads up, the log on screen apears
where I can choose a user to log on. The problem appears
when I click on my name, its starts to log on and as soon
as it says "logging on" it reverts back to the original
log on screen and says under my name "logging off"
then "saving your settings". How can I get rid of this
problem. It hapeens even in Safe Mode or any other mode.
I am able to sart up in DOS with my original windows CD
but thats as far as I know. Please help, my computer is
otherwise useless and I dont want to reformat. Thanks in
