Automatic Internet Disconnection

I want my dialup Internet connection to disconnect after 20 minutes of
inactivity. I set that setting to 20 minutes in the properties for my
Internet connection. However, the connection never disconnects. It is a
shared Internet connection. Even when I have the other(client win98) computer
off, my XP machine never disconnects. What is the deal, and how can I fix
this. This is really tying up my phone line.

Do you have Norton Systemworks loaded with the "keep internet connection
alive" function activated? or maybe some other "keep connection alive"
program running?

no, I have no such program running. The only thing It might be is if the
shared internet connection is making requests of the internet connection and
it is interpreting That as activity. Help
