AutoComplete won't save

My AutoComplete won't work. (I like the AutoComplete
function.) It 'prompts' me just fine and dandy, but it
doesn't save it. I have to re-type everything.

I've been to Tools > Internet Options > Content >
AutoComplete. All 4 boxes *are* ticked (including 'Prompt
Me'). No joy.

After reading MS newgroups, I've unticked everything,
cleared everything, rebooted, then gone back and enabled
everything, then rebooted again. Still no joy.

FYI:
P4 3.06, WXP-home, IE 6, All patches are up-to-date
I've tried shutting down ZoneAlarm version 3.7.193 (free)
and Norton SystemWorks 2003. AutoComplete still doesn't
work.

Does anybody have any ideas? Does anybody know where the
AutoComplete info is stored in XP?

Well.. there's "use inline autocomplete" in the Advanced tab. Also in
that tab, you might want to clear the option to empty temporary
internet files when you exit the browser. Would suggest you try these
separately, inline first. Apply, and okay your way out.

However, is NOTHING autocompleting? No passwords being saved or
information appearing on forms?

I finally got it working. :D

I was the only user account. So I set up 3 more accounts:
a guest account; a limited account; and another admin
account for me. Rebooted.

The AutoComplete worked for every account except the
original admin account. So I copied everything I needed
over to my NEW ADMIN account. Then I deleted all of the
other accounts (including their files and docs). Rebooted.

So now AutoComplete works like a charm. And I still don't
have to log on after a reboot.

I know, it's a stupid way of doing it. But you know the
old saying: If it's stupid, but it works - it's not stupid.
