IE6 won't save passwords

It's killin' me! IE6 won't save passwords to websites. I've checked
(internet options/content/autocomplete) autocomplete and everything is
checked, checked inline autocomplete, cleared the forms and passwords, tried
the support.microsoft.com/kb/885180 article registry fix (deleted protected
storage and rebooted) I've scoured the internet and newsgroups and nothing
seems to work. HELP!

I've got XP Home edition sp2 with Office 2003 sp2 using IE6. I've upgraded,
sidegraded, undergraded, topgraded, clicked, unclicked, reclicked, rebooted,
deleted, exported, imported, unported, outported, and the damn thing still
won't save passwords. Anyone have any ideas?

Already read the protected storage article...tried the
stop/restart...ugh...no help. Tried the registry key delete/reboot...still
no help. I haven't tried the new user account yet. I'll give that a
shot...wish me luck!

Thanks for the advice!

Hi,
See http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ProtectedStorage.htm for a few additional
suggestions.

Have you tried a new user account?

lvee

go to run>type in services.msc
Scroll down to Protected Storages and make sure that it's enabled and
started.
Also, when you say you cleared the forms and passwords, well, why did you do
that?
