Hi -
I'm running Windows XP Home, and the auto run feature for CDs/DVDs has
stopped working. I searched posts and found one where someone had the same
problem. I did everything that was suggested. I went to Kelly's corner and
ran the autorunenable.reg, and I downloaded and ran the autofix.exe from
Microsoft. Nothing is working, and both my DVD drive and CD drive don't
even show that there is a disc in the drive after it has spun up. I can
double click the icon and it will bring up the CD/DVD contents. At one time
I recall using the Windows XP disc to repair some kind of problem, but now
when I put it in the CD drive, nothing happens. I can't even get it to show
me the repair feature. My system sounds won't work any more either. All
of this happened at about the same time. I can get sound when I play an mp3
file with Windows Media Player, but the quality is terrible, and there are
no sounds for anything else. When I go to the sounds and audio device
properties, it shows no sound device. Can anyone help? I'd appreciate it.
