Auto Replies.

I'm kinda stumped on the situation I have. We have HR guys who have
two mailboxes, one for work and one for Resumes. Now they want
outlook to auto reply always(rather their online or not) when someone
sends email to the resume box. Now I have went though every rule in
outlook and can't seem to find anything that will work, for only the
one mailbox. There is account but that only relates to exchange
session, rather then just 1 mailbox. Is there anything else that im
missing? On outlook or Exchange side?

This can be done. However I Strongly recommend that you do not
pursue this avenue. This is just asking for a looping message that will
loop endlessly replying to another automatic reply until one of you,
or both end up with a mailbox to full to handle. Not to mention the
resource used by the servers with all that delivery!

Having said this, you would have to log into the other mailbox
to set the rule. Rules only apply to the mailbox that is currently
logged in (not just tied to).

I would suggest that you could try using a redirect rule to a public
folder that is set to auto reply. However this too is a dangerous
road to travel. You would need to set the rules on the public folder
to recognize certain types of mail and NOT fire the reply rule if it
meets this criteria. You then would need to babysit this folder,
frequently to find any rougue messages that still get through and
start looping replies to.

My advice is to let the HR guy know that this may cause many
email problems in the end.
