Auto Highlighting

Help - when I hit "home" to go to the first letter of text in a cell the text
auto highlights so I can't enter new text at the beginning without
re-entering everything. I must have accidentally turned on something I
didn't know I had on the keyboard. Any ideas??

Press the insert button on your keyboard. It is in overwrite state...
 
Oh for heaven's sake - amazing how something so simple can drive you so
nuts!!! Thanks for the info!
