Auto-downloaded browser tools

I don't know how or why but my IE6 keeps auto-downloading
several Favorites links and a search bar that are very
annoying and that I never downloaded or wanted. I've tried
deleted temporary internet files and cookies and that
junk, and searched around my computer for recently
downloaded files and deleted anything that looked shady,
but still nothing. This happened quite recently, around
the same time I downloaded the new version of MSNPlus! and
there also seems to be new adware on my computer. Can
anyone help?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
