auto dial up

When I click on the internet explorer icon on my desktop,
it does not auto dial my default connection. This worked
for as long as I can remember, up to about 5 days ago. I
either get a pop up message saying "connect" or work
offline, try again. Clicking on connect or try again
doesn't do a thing. It is wierd, I have other programs
that use the same dial up settings as internet explorer,
and they all start the auto dialer, but internet explorer
will not. The auto dial I am refering to, is the one
that comes with internet explorer. It is not a third
party dialer. Please help.

With IE open, go to Tools > Options > Connection. Check "Always dial my
default connection"

If you have the Google toolbar, uninstall it. This same
thing happened to me about 5 days ago. The DUN will come
up on the next try after the toolbar removal. I tried
reinstalling the toolbar today, but had the same results
after a couple of dial-ups.
