auto completion and passwords

I inadvertantly somehow removed windows xp's capability
to remember passwords and user names. How do I get this
back, please? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, to
no avail.

They were cleared the last time, so basically you are starting all over, it
has to remember them again. For information on this top and assistance,
