Auto Complete - preventing

R

Rick

I want to prevent auto complete from opening the dialog box asking me
if I would like it to remember, etc. It attempts to help me after
most forms, not url inputs.

I have unchecked all boxes under Tools/options/content/autocomplete.

Alternatively can I just remove the whole thing as I will never use
it.

Thanks

Hi Rick :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Disable Autocomplete

Tools>Internet Options>Content tab>click Autocomplete
Uncheck all the boxes for features you don't want to use
Click Apply
Then OK

With no programs open,
Run REGEDIT and make your way to this key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW]
Export that key (Registry> Export.) If you you wish to undo the change,
doubleclicking on that REG file will restore the original registry key.
Then delete the SPW key.
Restart the computer.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
