Auto complete does not work

have all the boxes checked for auto complete, yet only the web addresses
actually auto complete.

Forms, search engines etc do not remember what I have typed in previously.

Also I always get the window saying "remember password etc, no matter if I
check the box or not it never remembers my password. Nor does it stop
asking.me. I have selected the "don't ask again" box and of course it does
not remember this and continues to ask me again.
