Auto advance to previous slide

Ok I'm stumped on this one...

How do you program PP to advance from one slide back to a previous slide? So
go from slide 15 to slide 2, for example.

Thanks in advance!

Hi John

What version of PowerPoint are you using?

I'd use an action button. In 2007 Insert | Shapes. Choose an action
button (I'd use either back, return or the custom one).

Draw the action button on slide 15. When you finish creating it, the
Action Settings dialog box will pop up. In the "Hyperlink to" section
either press the "s" key or scroll to Slide... then select slide 2.
Click OK twice to finish.

When you run your slideshow, all you need do is click the button to
jump back.

Hope this helps.

Hi John

A small addition to Peter's excellent advice: if you select 'action' rather
than 'hyperlink' you can hyperlink to 'previous slide' (i.e. the last slide
you were on rather than a specific slide). I wasn't sure from your question
which you are after. Oh, and just so you know, you can add a
hyperlink/action to any object (text box, autoshape, picture, etc) not just
action buttons (which I think are kind of ugly).
