how can i change the audio playback device to the older
media player rather than the default windows media player?

Hi Taylor,

For example:

Although Windows XP comes with Windows Media Player 8.0, the older Windows
Media Player 6.4 is installed, too. It's at C:\Program Files\Windows Media
Player\mplayer2.exe.

Change your file association under folder options\file types.
